Recommendations????

Help, all you mothers out there. Please tell me what the most important things are to have for your baby for the first couple of months. I want to know about clothes what they wear if you even really dress them or if they hang out in those gowns and pj type clothes all the time. How many of these things do I need? How many plugs? Do you recommend plugs? Burp cloths, bibs, lotion, towels, newborn onesies. How many of all those things do I need? And for Mothers that nurse, what breast pump do you like? Do you really pump that much if you stay home? How many bottles and what kind? Pretty much I just need to know everything. Keep in mind she will be born in the middle of winter. Also what do you recommend I pack for myself for the hospital? And anything special that I will need after the baby comes? Anything you can think of that helped you please let me know. I only have 2 months left and I'm starting to freak out a little!!

I only put those sacs and one-piece jammies on Naomi for at least the first month. I had a couple of cute little 0-3 month outfits, but she really didn't wear them until 1.5-2 months old. Generally I kept her in jammies. I say, the more the better! Less laundry....haha....Also, the more burp cloths and blankets the better. They get dirty fast. And make sure you have receiving blankets so that you can wrap her up tight. The only reason you would use a pump is if you aren't comfortable breast feeding in public, or you want to leave her for long periods of time. I recommend the Medella pump (the one they use in the hospital). Manual ones don't work, you have to spend LOTS of money to buy one that is worth it and actually works! Don't waste your money on a cheap one. You'll regret it! For me, I breast fed and used formula. That has really worked out great for me. I should have just called you with all that info! Haha, feel free to call me anytime with questions. I'm not really a pro, but I just went through this too!

I'm pretty opinionated when it comes to this..so instead of risking offending someone- I'll just come over and tell you what worked for me!:)
Personally, even though I "stay at home" I used the pump often, especially at the beginning when it first comes in and while trying to regulate a feeding schedule. Also, if you work, you might want to get on a pumping schedule if you want her to eat your milk instead of formula... but formula is great too-- sometimes easier, sometimes not. I think you will just have to see what works best for you when she gets here.
As for other stuff, and things for the hospital...well.. this is already a novel... so I really will come over and tell you what was useful to me....
GOOD LUCK!!

Requel!!! So exciting, yea!!! Well, I totally recommend the Medela Electric Pump too, this is something you do not want to scrimp on. It was so nice to have even though I did stay home, to get the milk flow regulated. You never can have too many blankets and burp clothes. Also, buy a swaddler to wrap the baby in at night, it will give you and extra 2 hours (give or take) of sleep at a time - which is huge those first few weeks. I used the little gowns and jammies during the day too, but the outfits (Carter's makes some) that snap all the way are nice too. As far as diapers go, the Pampers newborns are the smallest so I used those first, and then the Huggies newborns because they have a hole cut out for the belly button. Diapers are another thing that are worth spending more on. I love Huggies, you can go to their website and sign up and they will send you coupons. I will be thinking of more things for you too!! Good luck!!! : )
