Probably the cutest thing I've ever heard...

"I love your little skirt and your cute shirt and your little eyes, all that stuffs, okay Lyla?"

Said by Bella in her sweet little girl voice today in the car.

Love my girls!

We need a bigger bed....

It's been a long week. Bella had her tonsils out last Friday but before that she had a really nasty cold. So now she has a super sore throat, nasty cough and a runny nose. Poor thing hasn't wanted to eat anything she'll take little bites of things here and there. We've been doing our best to make sure she stays hydrated. That's the biggest thing. But even that is a challenge with her right now. And to top it all off, sweet Lyla baby has now got the same nasty cold that Bella had. Actually the Dr. said it's a sinus infection. So she is just miserable also. So pretty much it's been super fun around here with 2 whiny baby girls!

We took Bella to Primary Children's at 10:30 on Friday morning, that's where she had her surgery done. I'm so glad she had it done there. Everything is totally catered to children, hence the name. She had a couple awesome nurses give her a little Pre-Op class so she new what to expect and wouldn't be so scared. She loved that and still talks about the nurses. They also gave her some liquid valume to help relax her nerves before they wheeled her off in her wagon for sedation.  She was so funny once the valume kicked in. She would say "this is an awesome bed" about the wagon she got to sit in. And was slurring her words and just talking silly. When the Dr. came to wheel her back she told us that we couldn't go with her because the nurse said Mom and Dad wouldn't be able to come so she was good with that. We gave her kisses and she went on her way. They said she was perfect and very calm. Thank you, valume!

The surgery is only about 8 minutes so it was only about a half hour total before the Dr. came to talk to us. He said she did great and said it was very satisfying to get her tonsils out because they were so big and corroded. So once again we hope this will be the answer to her unexplained fevers. I was then able to go back and see her, it was sad seeing her little body hooked up to some machines and her little face looking so sick. She didn't wake up fully for about 45 minutes after surgery. She would open her eyes then go back to sleep. She had a hard time drinking anything so we were there for a while. She had to be able to drink a certain amount before they would let us leave. It was a long day to say the least but she did so great and Lyla was such a good girl.

Today is Wednesday so 6 days post-op and she has done pretty well. Friday she was just mostly out of it and Saturday was by far the worst day. She had a fever and was so fussy and sick all day it was sad and we felt so bad for her. Sunday and Monday she perked up a bit. She felt good enough to want to play but still felt bad enough to be whiny and cranky. Tuesday was another rough day. She was fussy and tired and just not feeling well. The Dr. did say she will have good days and bad days for about 2 weeks. So we've got a ways to go still. She is to be on a soft diet for at least 2 weeks. Which is fine cause she won't eat anything anyway. We've just been trying to give her soups, ice cream, jello, pudding, yogurt and anything else "soft" she will eat. And lots of drinks. She's actually sitting here next to me drinking some water and eating some mini marshmallows...whatever she'll eat at this point.

We wanted to say thank you to our family and some sweet friends and neighbors that have stopped by with special presents and surprises for Bella. That was so nice and much appreciated. Thanks for thinking of us. Mimi (my mom) will be here tomorrow morning. That is the earliest she could get away. But I will take her whenever I can get her. It will be nice to have her here to help since both girls are sick. I have errands that need to be done and honestly it will just be nice to get out of the house for an hour by myself! And Eric and I will be able to go on a much need date sometime this weekend. And maybe she'll even let me lock myself in my room for a nap. Since both girls end up in our bed most nights we're pretty tired. And it's getting a little crowded. A queen bed  just isn't big enough for 4 people!

Girls and Boys Weekend...

My cute matching girls...not the best pic but what do you expect from a 3 yr old and a baby.
Bathing beauties
Mimi with the girls before Disney on Ice (I love Lyla's happy little face in this one)
More matching....this one turned out cute!! All ready for Disney on Ice in their pretty, new, spring outfits.
Best cousins! We got them cotton candy and they both hated it!! Ha ha...so we enjoyed it!
My favorite visitors ever!
Besties! This little girl was so excited all Day!!
I asked her if she was liking the show and she said "I'm loving it!"
This sweet one did so good through all the loud noise. She has always been into watching so she really enjoyed it to!
I love my Mom! Thanks for another super fun girls weekend Mama!

This handsome guy went to St.George and Mesquite with some buddies for a golf weekend.
So pretty! Not sure what course this is but looks awesome!
This too is super pretty. He said it was almost 80 in Mesquite on Friday. So nice, perfect day to golf!

Us girls had a great weekend here at home. We ate too much and shopped a little and saw Disney on Ice.
It was so much fun! Can't wait til next time!

And I know Eric had a great weekend with his buddies golfing and hanging out. How could he not with the beautiful weather he had.

Two Things....

First, my baby, as of Monday, is now 5 months old! So crazy! She has developed the cutest little personality. She smiles at everyone and loves to laugh and play. She especially loves her big sister. She will giggle just looking at her. It's so cute and I love to see them giggle and play together. She still doesn't sleep through the night or much during the day and most the time is too busy to focus on eating...pretty much exactly like Bella was. But she is so sweet and so much fun that I am pretty forgiving of these exhausting behaviors of hers.
Second, this crazy little monkey will be getting her tonsils out next Friday. I'm so nervous about her having a surgery but it's only an 8 minute procedure and in talking to the specialist he made us feel more comfortable and confident in his ability. He said that her tonsils were twice as big as they should be and that they had pits and crevices, perfect places for bacteria and infection to grow. So we are hoping that having this procedure done will stop her fevers that she gets once a month. The Dr. seemed pretty positive that having her tonsils removed will do the trick so cross your fingers! The recovery is going to be brutal. So not looking forward to that. But I'll have Eric here with me the first few days then my Mom will come and help me out. Poor thing I already feel so bad for her and for me (let's be honest) but I know it will be a good thing in the long run.

Wish us luck!!

Both girls asleep at the same time!! Bella doesn't usually take naps anymore. But I wore her out today!

Bella wanted to have a picnic at the park today. So we packed up a lunch and walked across the street.
