Adjusting

Girls enjoying a bath together.
Lyla almost looks like she is smiling. She's getting used to the "love" that Bella gives her.

Sleeping angel.

Bella is nursing her lamb. Ha ahahah!

Big kisses for mama....ok so she was just hungry but whatever.

Daddy getting in some Lyla time.

Sweet girl. She looks so much older than a 2 week old.

Bella playing in the yard on a cool fall day!
We haven't really been up to much this past week. Little Lyla is growing and I feel like she is already so big even though she probably only weighs 7 pounds. Last Wednesday the 20th we took her for her 2 week check up and she was 6 lbs and 13 oz and 21 inches long. So she is gaining weight and getting taller! She is a bit high maintenance. She doesn't care to be put down. In fact it really hurts her little feelings. She loves to be held and snuggled. Which I love but it is hard because I have a 2 year old that still needs and wants my attention. I'm still trying to find that balance of baby time and toddler time. I forgot how time consuming it is to have a nursing new born. You have to schedule everything around their eating times. And it takes forever!  It's a challenge. Then getting her to sleep and hoping she stays asleep so I can do something around the house or give Bella some attention. I'll admit it's harder than I thought it would be. But we'll get it figured out soon. It will get easier when she gets on a schedule, I'm sure. Most days are pretty good. I've even gotten out several times with the girls and it's not too bad. Lyla falls asleep instantly in the car so that's great. We have our rough days where nothing gets done and we don't even get out of our pj's. But it's only been 3 weeks so I don't feel too bad. I do kinda feel bad for Bella. Some days she just walks around so bored and just wants me to do things with her but it always seems to be when I'm nursing or holding a crying baby. Poor girl. These are the days that I really wish I lived near my Mom so I could have some extra help during the day. I can see why girls usually live near their parents. For the help. We are looking forward to this weekend when my Mom and my Sister come to visit.

I feel for you!! That first month is such a tough transition. There's 2 things I found that helped: pumping so that Chris could give Mason bottles/and Addy liked to hold it too, and those sling/wraps so that I was able to still be holding Mason, but able to get some stuff done. I got mine from this website:http://bhacmw.blogspot.com/ it was the carry me wrap.
She has a link on there to show all the different ways you can wrap the babies up. Mason liked the nursing position the best. It gets so much better!!

Congrats, she is so cute, does she look like Bella when she was a baby? I know how the sharing time with the newborn and toddler is and I felt really guilty at first too! It WILL get better. I hope that you guys are all doing well. I wish that I could see you guys more.

Bella should come have a playdate with Nelson. He would love it and she would get out of the house.
