M.O.M

This past weekend was Mother's Day. A time to celebrate all the wonderful Mother's in our lives. And a time to celebrate our children that allow us to be Mothers.
We had a nice weekend. Saturday morning we went to breakfast at kneaders. They give free french toast to Mothers on that day. And their french toast is the best! Sunday, Eric got up with the girls at 6 and let me sleep in for a while then made me eggs for breakfast. I also got homemade cards from him and Bella. I love them. The best part of the day was getting to watch Bella sing the Mother's day song in sacrament meeting for the first time. She was so precious. She's a little shy and timid in a large group so she stood off to the side all by herself and was the last kid off the stand, she finally came down after all the other kids. We finished off the day spending time and having dinner with Eric's family.
I am so grateful for my children. My girls. I love them so much. I love that I get to spend every day with them. Teaching them, playing with them and loving them. They are my greatest accomplishment. I am truly doing what I've always wanted to do. Some people want to be Doctors or Nurses or Business people but me, I've always wanted to be a wife and a MOM. And that's just what I get to be. So I'm also thankful for a husband that allows me to do that. He works hard out of the home so I can work in our home. It's not allows fun and easy but I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. Like right now I'm exhausted. Lyla is 7 months old but has reverted back to newborn style. She's never been a good sleeper. But now wakes every couple of hours in the night. It's rough. She would prefer to be next to me all night long. So most nights that what we do. It's just easier. But not the most restful for me. And Bella is an early riser. Always has been. Up between 6 and 7 everyday. My mom always says this is the best time of your life but also the most exhausting. She's right.
Here's to my sweet girls for allowing me the great honor of being their Mother.
I also want to give a shout out to my Mom. She's the best! We are best friends for sure. And my sister. Us three and our girls are besties forever!  I'm so glad I have such a great Mom that is and was so involved in our lives. She taught me how to be a great Mother and how to make a house a home. I love going "home" and I hope that my kids will always feel the same about our home. She taught me what it means to sacrifice my needs and wants for the needs and wants of my children. These precious little girls always come first. As they should. My Mom is the best grandmother. She makes all of her grand babies feel special. And still makes me feel special and is still doing things for me at almost 29 years old. But hey a Mother never stops being a Mother. I love you Mom!
I didn't realize when I was younger that my Mom and my sister would be my very best friends now. So that makes me even more happy to have my two girls. They will always have each other and will be best friends. Rachel and I would fight and argue growing up but still I don't think we were that bad. I remember she would let me come along with her and her friends sometimes. That was always awesome. I felt older and cooler for some reason. So funny. I'm so grateful for her now. She's my sister and my friend. And she's such a great Mom. She loves her baby girl more than anything. And is doing all she can now to give her a better life. She's smart and strong and beautiful!  Love you big sis!
Us girls, sad but I think this is the only picture I have of just us 3. And it's clear back from my wedding.
I also wanted to wish a Happy Mother's day to my Grammy and my Mother in law and Grandmother in law. They have all taught me so much and have given me so much to be grateful for. Also to my friends out there that are Mothers. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend to celebrate yourselves and your Mothers.

You are one blessed girl Requel. Not only do you have my son as your handsome hubby. *grin* But you do have the closeness and best friends with your Mom and sister. And you are starting that tradition with your children. Like your Mom said...I love watching you play with your children. You are the best Mom ever! I am so blessed to have a daughter in law like you...and mother to my grand daughters. Thanks for being you...thanks for coming over on Mothers Day, and thanks for just being you!!! xoxo
